Main problems faced by KIDS in Pakistan

Around 90% of the 170,000 street children in Pakistan are subjected to the sex trade, and it is estimated that only 20% of sexual abuse cases are reported.

Sexual Exploitation

There is a troubling increase in the cases of abuse, kidnapping, and violence towards children in Pakistan. Consider the fact that 80% of the cases are not reported

Violence and Abuse

24% of the Pakistani population lives below the poverty line. This problem mainly affects rural areas. The first victims of poverty are children.

Poverty

The socio-economic situation of the country is disastrous and forces families to make their children work. Around 11 million children are performing domestic tasks and working in agriculture.

Child Labour

Each day, around 1,100 Pakistani children under five years old die from diarrhea and illnesses related to water, sanitation, and hygiene. The nutritional status of children is very poor: 35% of them are underweight.

Health

Despite the “Child Marriage Restraint Act”, which forbids the marriage of children, these marriages still take place in Pakistan. It is estimated that child marriage represents around 32% of local marriages.

RIGHT TO EDUCATION

Only 71% of children attend primary school in Pakistan. This means that 23 million children are deprived of education. Furthermore, the attendance rate for education is higher among boys than girls. The government only allocates 1.8% of its national budget to education, which is insufficient considering the need. This is the case for almost 50% of school-going children ages 6 to 16 in Pakistan. “The lack of education feeds the frustration; without education, you can’t find work, you don’t have an adequate salary. This can also manifest itself in radicalized thought.”

RUBINA EDUCATION CENTRE AT JACOBABAD, SINDH PROVINCE OF PAKISTAN

The Rubina Education Center become an effective medium to bring education to the 50 tribal (Christian, Muslim, and Hindu) kids and their families. Currently we are only support these kids by giving stationary support every month. However, we are praying that by fully sponsoring these 50 kids. It will allow these poverty stricken street children to go to the public school. We believe education will bring a generational transformation in their lives.

Our vision is not only to educate them with primary education, we aim that God would change their lives for now and for eternity. Every Friday, our committed missionary and two volunteers gather these 50 kids and conduct Bible Study and other fun kids activities.

It only costs $30 to pay a month school fees of a child, and it will also cover the stationary expenses of the child.
